On Wednesday this week join Tony Wood for a circular walk from Matlock Bath to Cromford and discover some of the old mines, quarry workings and mills along with stories of the people who worked there. This walk will go on paths through the nature reserve and woods as well as the pavements so we recommend sturdy footware such as trainers or walking boots rather than sandals. Meet at 6.30pm at the Peak District Mining Museum (at the big blue doors at the front of the Grand Pavilion in Matlock Bath) and pay the £4 per person to the guide on the night. Walk takes about 2 hours depending on the amount of questions, it is taken at a gentle pace and uphill parts have frequent rest stops. If it is hot do bring a drink with you. Dogs on short leads welcome. If you have any questions just pop into the museum (open 11-4 daily) or ring 01629 583834.
